Every January first (for the past few years – 2020, 2021) I like to look at some numbers and stats from the previous year.

Content

This year my writing dropped a tiny bit down to 358 posts thanks to COVID, for a total of 1347 live posts on the site. I’m hoping to get it back up to 365 this year.

Analytics

For the year I saw a total of 37,274 pageviews, up roughly 57% from 2021, so a nice little bump. Still not a huge number, but I’m very happy with it. I’ve also done a lot more work on my Medium and Substack pages, and many people consume the content directly on those. As I’ve said before, I’m happy to push my content wherever it is easiest for people to consume it, as numbers aren’t my goal.

Popular Posts

Here are the post popular posts from 2022. As with last year, many of them weren’t written in 2022 but these are what people read the most last year.

1 – The customer is always right in matters of taste
August 13, 2021 – 9,605 views this year
This was published in late 2021, but had FAR more views than any other post on the site this year.

2 – Explain it to me like I’m five
March 15, 2021 – 4,323 views this year
This was my push to get people to work to distill ideas down to a more simple form, which is often what I try to do on here.

3 – Highlights from “The Road Back to You”
January 18, 2020 – 1,325 views this year
Another from 2020, this is a long breakdown of the Enneagram and how it applies to the people in my life and how you can use it with the people in yours.

4 – Anki vs Brainscape
July 23, 2017 – 1,041 views this year
This one is back again, and continues to bring solid traffic. I still use Anki every day, and encourage you to give it a try.

5 – The hearing impaired scam
November 27, 2017 – 959 views this year
This one came back from years ago, as this scam became rather popular again this year, and hopefully this post helped keep some people out of trouble.

2023

Things are going strong, and hopefully I’ll be able to get another 365 posts behind me in a year. We’ll see how it goes, and I wish you a wonderful 2023!
