Don’t be selfish

Reading Time: < 1 minute

I bought a watch a while back from a store in the mall. It’s a Timex Ironman and I’ve been very pleased with it. Recently, the display started to dim – a sure indication of a dying battery. So, on our next trip to the mall, I stopped by the watch store to get it fixed. When I asked if they could do it, I was told that the watch repairman wouldn’t be in until tomorrow. They offered to keep the watch and get it fixed the next day, but I’d rather not be without it.

So, I asked the guy if there was anywhere else in the mall that might be able to replace the battery. “Nope”.

Of course, directly across from this store (and down a level) was another watch place, who gladly replaced the battery for $10.

The result: The place where I bought the watch, which I thought was a decent store, has lost me as a customer because they felt that they should lie to me in order to get a measly $10.
